Privacy Notice

Information You Submit

Search Entries

A name, place, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates the tool. Jefferson County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s privacy terms govern its handling.

Messages

If you send an email or contact message, we keep the information needed to answer it. We do not disclose a message outside the organization unless the law requires us to do so.

Automatic Technical Information

Standard technical records may be created when a page loads. They can include:

  • Internet Protocol address;
  • browser name and version;
  • device type and operating system;
  • pages viewed and time spent;
  • the referring website, when supplied; and
  • request dates and timestamps.

Cookie Controls

Cookies may help measure how visitors use the Jefferson County pages. Browser settings can block or remove them, though a search, preference, or other feature may work differently when cookies are disabled.

How Information Is Used

Collected information supports ordinary site operations. It may be used to:

  • keep pages available and responsive;
  • send a search request to the selected partner;
  • understand which Jefferson County resources visitors use;
  • diagnose errors, abuse, and performance problems; and
  • display advertising that may reflect inferred interests.

Websites Beyond Our Control

Links may lead to Jefferson County Sheriff records, TDCJ, Texas IVSS, BOP, ICE, courts, or outside search services. Once you follow a link, that operator’s privacy notice and security practices apply. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, governs access to records held by Texas governmental bodies; it does not govern how every private linked service handles visitor data.

Some advertising companies may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and select ads. That tracking occurs under the advertising provider’s controls, not as a Jefferson County government activity.

Parties That May Receive Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be received by:

  • search partners that process submitted queries;
  • analytics providers that measure site performance;
  • advertising networks that deliver and measure ads; and
  • law enforcement or government authorities acting under a valid legal order.

Reasonable Security Measures

We use customary safeguards intended to reduce unauthorized access or misuse. No website, network, transmission method, or storage system can be promised as breach-proof. Visitors should avoid placing confidential case details, account credentials, or sensitive identifiers in a general message.

Visitors Under Eighteen

This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may request its deletion through the Contact Us page.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and verification, you may ask to:

  • receive a copy of personal information we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete information that is not required to be retained; or
  • opt out of processing where an applicable right permits it.

These choices concern data held by this private resource. Requests for a Sheriff, court, TDCJ, or federal record must go to the government body that maintains it.

Changes to This Notice

We may revise this Privacy Notice as services or legal duties change. A revision becomes available on this page with a new effective date.
